内容紹介：

浅間山の2004年9月1日の噴出物(三宅・他,2005)に対して、 MELTSプログラム(Ghiorso and Sack,1995)を用いて、 様々な温度・圧力・含水量・酸素分圧を与えた計算を行ない、 得られた結果のうち火山噴火メカニズムの理解にとって重要ないくつかのパラメータ (メルトの量、粘性、密度、化学組成、鉱物の種類、量、化学組成)を、 温度・圧力平面上に約1000枚の等高線図で表現し、 これらをハイパーテキストで相互リンクした。

その結果、マグマの上昇や冷却に伴なう岩石学 的変数の変化の様子が定量的かつ直感的な把握が可能になった。
