Trench excavation at the Kami-shii site on the Kokura-higashi fault, northern Kyushu Island

We conducted a trench excavation study of the Kokura-higashi fault in the Kokuraminami Ward, Kitakyushu City with the financial support of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. A fault was cropped out and multiple faulting events were recognized on the trench wall.

Campaign seismic observation in northeastern Yamanashi prefecture

Since 2013, and photo and example of seismograms recorded at each station. The seismic records from this observation help us to estimate the crustal stress regime in this area. See the details in Uchide et al. (pages 211-233).
