Archive of Research Materials

Last Updated : April 9, 2021

The Geoinformation Service Center (GSC) of GSJ is in charge of collecting and managing geological literature and management of maps and reports published by GSJ, which are indispensable basis for research. The literature is open to public in our library and geological map library as well as on the Internet as a geological literature database GEOLIS (Geological Literature Search).
GSC archives the primary geological survey data which is the outcome of our research, and geological specimens. Most of them are “physical evidence” of our geological mapping and studies. Geological specimens are available to other researchers within and outside AIST as research materials to be utilized in many geological studies. They have also been used in our outreach activities and are sometimes lent to other museums for exhibition. The database of these specimens is available on the Web.
