Model of Mt. Fuji
The shape of Mt. Fuji is the result of repeated lava and volcanic ash eruptions from its current summit crater. By pressing the button, you can see a cross section of Mt. Fuji. There are also eruptions from its lateral craters. The 1707 Hoei eruption during the Edo period caused an even larger crater than that on the summit to form at the slope of the mountain on its southeastern side. There have been no eruptions since then. When will the next eruption take place?
