Rocks

Rocks are the substances that shape the solid Earth. Of the elements that make up the earth, oxygen is the most common, followed by silicon. We can say many rocks are an aggregate of silicate minerals that are made from these two elements. Rocks can be divided into four categories: sedimentary rock, volcanic rock, plutonic rock, and metamorphic rock. In this exhibition room, about 140 specimens are arranged in order of the above classification starting from the area closest to the entrance. This arrangement represents the order of the rocks from the surface to the depths of the Earth.
