Footprint of an Allosaurus
Allosaurus are notable Mesozoic Jurassic carnivorous dinosaurs. They are around 8.5 m in length, with some believed to have measured up to 12 m. They were 2-legged, had large cranial bones with a number of large, sharp teeth, strong hind legs, and short forelegs. Each forefoot had 3 small toes, while the hind foot had a small big toe slightly above and on the inside of the 3 toes that made contact with the ground. This particular exhibit is a replica of the fossil footprint found in Texas, U.S.A, whose length from toe to heal is around 45 cm. It is known from statistical researches that the height of a dinosaur's hip is 4 times the size of its feet. Step onto the glass, and see how the size of your feet compare to those of a dinosaur.
