How to Get to the Geological Museum
- The Geological Museum is located within AIST in Tsukuba Science City.
- Times of opening are as follows.
OPEN: 9:30-16:30
CLOSED: Every Monday (Tuesday when national holiday falls on Monday), Dec.
28 - Jan. 4.
- Guests coming from Tsukuba, Tsuchiura area:
The museum is a five minute walk from the Namiki 2-chome
stop of the Kanto-Tetsudo Bus line.
- Guests coming from Tokyo:
Highway bus
60 minute bus ride from the Tokyo sta. Yaesu
South Exit to the Namiki 2-chome stop of the JR bus Kanto,
highway bus line.
Walk for 5 minutes to the Namiki 2-chome stop.
TSUKUBA EXPRESS (a rapid-transit railway line)
Take the express train from Akihabara (45 min) and get off at Tsukuba Station.
Take exit A4.
1. Take the Kanto Tetsudo bus going to "Arakawaoki (West Entrance) via
Namiki" or "Ami Chuo Kominkan" from platform 4 at Tsukuba Bus Terminal.
Get off at Namiki 2-chome. Walk for 5 minutes to
the Geological Museum.
2. Take a taxi from Tsukuba Station to
the Geological Museum. It should take 15 minutes and
it costs about 2,000 yen.
JR JOBAN LINE
Take the train from Ueno (60 min) and get off at Arakawaoki Station. Take the West exit.
1. Take the Kanto Tetsudo bus going to gTsukuba Daigaku Chuoh or gTsukuba Center via Namikih from platform 4 at Arakawaoki Station. Get off at Namiki 2-chome. Walk for 3 minutes to the Geological Museum.
2. Take a taxi from Arakawaoki Station to the Geological Museum. It should take 15 minutes.
